IVC serves as a link between the people in our community who need help and those who are able to help. Our volunteers provide transportation, caregiver support and assistance to seniors and others. We help fill in the gaps so that people can live as independently as possible.
- Transportation to medical and other necessary appointments (ie Helpline).
- Transportation to social and recreational activities (ie. Senior Center)
- Compassionate Companions One-on-One Grief Support
- Companionship Grief and Caregivers Support Groups
- Respite care to relieve overburdened family and friend care givers
- Perform light household and light yard work chores
- Run errands
- Prepare light meals
- Card playing/games
- Spirit lifting activities such as visiting a museum or going to a concert
- Playing music, singing
- Reading or writing letters
- Taking someone for a walk
- Small organizational tasks
- Telephone reassurance
- Grocery Shopping
- Assistance with Pet Care
- Medical Note Takers
- Caregiver Canines Visiting Pet Therapy
- Assist with projects in the IVC office (ie. Office support, computer, fundraising).
